This infection occurs from the soil containing a type of bacteria known as Clostridium tetani. The bacteria enter the body through cut and wounds, affects the nervous system. It is a deadly disease.

• Penicillin and antitoxins are given to the contracted individuals.
• Children are vaccinated with DPT (tripple vacine)
